The Sixties
Every diamond begins its life not knowing it’s destiny. Forged deep within the earth or grown in a laboratory, it is shaped by pressure, patience, and time.
So is every legacy.
Long before DAIMANTÉ took form, the Singh family’s story began in Jharkhand in a small obscure hamlet, one of those places history rarely pauses to remember. Tucked away from opportunity, it offered little beyond resilience and resolve. It was here that DAIMANTÉ founder Sunny Singh’s father Krishna Murari Singh, and his uncles were born, raised and taught the earliest lessons of endurance.
The Seventies
In the late 70’s, the senior Singh brothers did what generations before them had only dreamed of: they migrated to larger towns like Patna. Life was never easy. Progress was slow. But perseverance, once learned, becomes instinct.
Through grit and quiet determination, each brother began to build a life, brick by brick, family by family.
For Sunny, growing up meant watching courage practiced daily. His father embodied stoicism-uncomplaining, steadfast, deeply principled. That strength shaped Sunny’s character. But it was his father’s elder brother, his Bade Papa, who would leave an indelible imprint on his imagination.
The Eighties
With an innate sense of salesmanship, his uncle found his calling in jewellery and in 1980 he had established his business selling gems and precious stones to jewellers who would later transform them into objects of desire.
What began as enterprise soon became legacy. Over the next five decades, his work became noticeable in Surat, the heart of India’s diamond trade. His associations with jewellers from there as well as from Mumbai, Kolkata and Jaipur were not just transactional, but generational. Relationships that matured over half a century, with all of them growing successful together as a community.
The Nineties
A young Sunny, growing up in the 90’s, often watched his uncle go about his work. And it was in those unassuming moments that fascination turned into destiny.
Sunny’s clearest memories are of light. Late afternoon sun filtering through dusty windows. Diamonds held delicately between practiced fingers. Edges bouncing off the light. Facets whispering brilliance.
He watched as his uncle studied each stone-judging clarity, weighing cut, reading it’s potential. The gems seemed alive, twinkling with possibility, passing from hand to hand on their way toward an unknown future. The men who sold them. The artisans who shaped them. The wearer who would one day make them personal.
The Noughties
Somewhere between those quiet transactions, a spark was lit.
Years passed. Sunny grew, learned, built his own path, eventually basing himself in Pune in the early 2000s, carrying with him both memory and ambition. When his father passed away in January 2025, the absence was profound. Yet his Bade Papa, now in his seventies, remained a guiding presence, a testament to where the journey began and what perseverance looks like when worn with grace.
In 2024 Sunny chose to honor that lineage.
DAIMANTÉ was born much like a diamond - in heat and pressure, with passion at its core and adventure etched into its soul.
DAIMANTÉ has emerged as a vision shaped by heritage yet resolutely modern. A brand built not merely on luxury, but on intention.
It is a vision Sunny’s father would have recognized with pride.
Today DAIMANTÉ is an atelier of design-forward jewellery for those who seek crafted luxury with purpose. For those who understand that true brilliance is not found, it is forged.
